Sparkler Overview for Birth to Three Providers

Sparkler’s mobile app helps families know how their children are developing through observations of age-based play activities and through the leading child development screen, the Ages and Stages Questionnaires ® (ASQ® ). The Sparkler team, including representatives from Sparkler and 211 Child Development, will be offering an overview of the app to Birth to Three providers in early 2022. The training will discuss how to support families that do no qualify for early intervention and how Sparkler can be used. First STEPs Training for Families

This four-session virtual series is designed to help parents understand the Birth to Three System, evaluation process, transition from Birth to Three into Preschool Special Education, and advocacy skills. Automatic Eligibility Updates effective October 1, 2021

The CT Birth to Three System has updated the diagnosed conditions list for automatic eligibility in an effort to better align with the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) Position Statement on Low Birth Weight, Prematurity and Early Intervention for best practice. Effective October 1, 2021, children born under 32 weeks gestation and/or weighing less than 1500 grams are automatically eligible for early intervention supports in CT. Here is the link for the full list of diagnosed conditions and ICD 10 codes for automatic eligibility in CT. Refer to the Evaluation and Assessment Procedure and Guidance document for more information.
