Making a Referral
If you have concerns about an infant or toddler’s feeding, sitting up or walking, seeing, hearing, talking, handling toys, or playing alone or with others, you can call the Child Development Infoline (CDI) at 1-800-505-7000 to discuss your concerns or request an evaluation of your child’s development. You may also use the Referral Form on this website or print out and fax the form below. The child development experts at CDI will help callers with their concerns, and make sure that infants and toddlers who may have significant developmental delays are offered appropriate, comprehensive services as early as possible. Early Development
Some of the most precious moments parents enjoy are seeing their baby develop a new skill. Smiling, grasping a finger, sitting up, that first baby word – all are cause for celebration!
Every baby will develop skills at their own pace – sometimes before another child of the same age, and sometimes after other babies their same age. There is no exact timetable to fit every baby, but most babies develop skills in a specific sequence and at approximately the same age.
