The role of a mother/caregiver involves many layers, and some of these layers are complex and deeply rooted. Some may naturally transition into motherhood with ease and a welcoming embrace. For others, the role of motherhood may not come easily, and forming attachments with young children may be a challenge. By highlighting Doulas and focusing on Circle of Security, March’s webinar will address the importance of relationships and establishing strong attachments with young children as early in their development as possible. The webinar will focus on how the work of Doulas and Circle of Security have been impactful in supporting pregnant mothers who are incarcerated (or once were incarcerated) in establishing and strengthening connections with their children. A goal for the webinar is to highlight the value of working together as a team with shared vision supporting mother and child during the most precious moments in life, moments that create lasting generational impact.
The session will include:

- Engaging Panel Discussion facilitated by Dr. Luz Rivera, Primary Prevention Services Coordinator at OEC

Les invitamos a participar en el próximo seminario web de la Oficina de Iniciativas de Salud Conductual para The Office of Early Childhood, Una Segunda Oportunidad: Fortaleciendo los vínculos entre padres e hijos y creando un impacto generacional duradero a través del Círculo de Seguridad.
El rol de madre/cuidadora implica muchas facetas, algunas de ellas complejas y profundamente arraigadas. Algunas pueden adaptarse a la maternidad con naturalidad y una cálida bienvenida. Para otras, el rol de madre puede no ser fácil, y formar vínculos con los niños pequeños puede ser un desafío. Al destacar la labor de las doulas y centrarse en el Círculo de Seguridad, el seminario web de marzo abordará la importancia de las relaciones y el establecimiento de vínculos sólidos con los niños pequeños desde la etapa más temprana posible de su desarrollo. El seminario web se centrará en cómo el trabajo de las doulas y el Círculo de Seguridad han sido fundamentales para apoyar a las madres embarazadas que están (o estuvieron) encarceladas, ayudándolas a establecer y fortalecer los vínculos con sus hijos. Uno de los objetivos del seminario web es resaltar el valor de trabajar en equipo con una visión compartida, apoyando a la madre y al niño durante los momentos más preciados de la vida, momentos que crean un impacto generacional duradero.
