Office of Early Childhood’s Behavioral Health Initiative – Lunch and Learn (August 14th 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.)

Please join the Office of Early Childhood’s Behavioral Health Initiative, in collaboration with The Parent Infant Early Childhood (PIEC) Team at UConn School of Social Work’s Innovations Institute, for a Lunch & Learn regarding Pyramid for All.

The social and emotional needs of very young children can often be experienced as overwhelming and disruptive – for adults and children. We recognize that addressing social emotional needs can feel burdensome given the complexities facing families, providers, and communities at this time. Responding to behavior is no small feat, even with the understanding that behavior is language for the child.  We all benefit from understanding how best to communicate with and receive communication from children. In Connecticut we have invested in the Pyramid Model, which is a framework for promoting social emotional competence and preventing challenging behavior at home and within educational settings.

Please join the Office of Early Childhood’s Behavioral Health Initiative, in collaboration with The Parent Infant Early Childhood (PIEC) Team at UConn School of Social Work’s Innovations Institute, on Thursday, August 14th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM for a Lunch & Learn regarding Pyramid for All – to provide a synopsis of Pyramid Model resources available to providers, and a discussion of how Pyramid Model practices provide a solid foundation for positive behavior in all children. Please find a Zoom registration information below. Take care, we look forward to connecting and learning with you soon.
