The Office of Early Childhood (OEC) is accepting applications again for a new cohort of parents to become a part of the OEC Parent Cabinet! When we use the term parent, we mean all who care for and raise children in a parenting role. The OEC Parent Cabinet is a diverse, parent-led 15-member statutory advisory committee to OEC (P.A. 23-160, Sec. 40). There are 2 to 3 members representing 1 of 6 DCF regions of the state (according to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) map). It is a 2.5-year term commitment, staggered. All parents receive compensation for their time and expertise. We want to make sure parent voice is a part of state decisions and policies that affect all families, and since parents are the experts, we can’t do it without you!
