A Full Remote EI Visit Video from Iowa

April 20, 2020

This is from our colleague and friend Larry Edelman and our friends in Iowa.  They use a different approach but it is interesting to see what others are doing!

Hi Friends,

I am very pleased to let you know of this brand new video! It’s a bit long, so you might want to make some popcorn! The video, An Illustration of Using the SS-OO-PP-RR Framework to Guide Home Visiting, illustrates an entire home visit delivered by Iowa early interventionist Jenny Seuntjens via video conferencing during the COVID-19 pandemic, with very little taken out. Running at around forty minutes, the video includes an introduction by Juliann Woods and annotations throughout that point out key strategies used by both the provider and the family. You can watch the video on two different sites:

ECTA: https://ectacenter.org/topics/disaster/ti-service.asp#ss-oo-pp-rr2

FGRBI: http://fgrbi.com/mobile-coaching/

It was a privilege to work on this video with Jenny, Grayson’s family, and the teams at Florida State University, Communication and Early Childhood Research and Practice Center; Iowa Department of Education Early ACCESS; and the Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center at the FPG Child development Institute, UNC-Chapel Hill.

Please share with your colleagues.

Stay well!

Larry
